Come join Benson's all-volunteer cleanup project Saturday morning.

Volunteers will be gathering at Lions Park in Benson at 8 a.m. for an organizational meeting where they will be given a designated area of the city to pick up trash and other discarded items. Organizers Elton Bowman and Pam Masters are seeking volunteers to assist with this annual cleanup effort, dubbed "Brighten the Path." The City of Benson is providing gloves, grabbers, garbage bags and will be paying the transfer center's "tipping fee" as loads of garbage are dropped off.

"We've had wonderful response from past cleanup efforts," Elton Bowman said. "This is a feel-good project that makes Benson a better place to live."
