The Benson Bobcats had a great varsity baseball team this year. Made it to the state finals in their conference. One of those players that made it such a success was outfielder Antonio Rigney, and he's signed his intent to play for Hastings College in Nebraska.

The Broncos are gaining one of Benson’s best players this year. Antonio had a .574 on-base percentage, and once on base he was a threat, compiling 31 stolen bases. He was solid at the plate with a .458 average, 44 hits, and 13 runs batted in.

I spoke with Broncos head coach Joel Schipper about his new recruit.

"We are extremely excited with the signing of Antonio. He holds all the physical abilities - speed, bat, glove - to have great success at the next level. On top of that he is the ultimate competitor and will do whatever is necessary to help his team win. We could not be happier Antonio is a Bronco!"
