Reader Pat Behr Morriss sent over the following anecdote about a celebration from yesteryear:
"Your article on The Rex Allen Days brought back fond memories. I graduated from St. David High School in 1964 and entered the 'Miss Cochise County Pageant,' which I won. One of my first duties was representing Cochise County at the 13 Annual Rex Allen Days in 1964. The day was full of activities: The Rex Allen Parade, Rodeo, Night time Stage Show and Dance."
Pat even included a shot of her alongside Allen from her meeting with him during the celebration. "It was such an exciting time for a girl from a small town in Arizona," she concluded.
